"Deep clean" gets used loosely, but it's a genuinely different job from a regular cleaning visit — different scope, different time, and a different answer for how often you need it.
Regular Cleaning vs. Deep Cleaning
A regular cleaning visit — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly — keeps the surfaces you touch and see every day in check: kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting, and general tidying. It's maintenance. It assumes the home was already in good shape and just needs to stay that way.
A deep clean goes after the things a regular visit doesn't have time for: baseboards, vents, inside the oven and refrigerator, behind and under furniture, built-up grime in grout lines, light fixtures, and cabinet interiors. It's a reset, not maintenance.
A Reasonable Schedule
For most homes already on a regular cleaning schedule, a deep clean once or twice a year — commonly in spring and before the holidays — is enough to catch what regular visits miss. Homes without a regular cleaning schedule, or that have gone a long stretch without one, usually need a deep clean first as a baseline, then can shift to lighter regular visits afterward.
A few situations call for a deep clean outside that normal rhythm: moving into or out of a home, after a renovation, after an illness in the household, or simply if it's been over a year since the last one.
Not Sure Which One You Need?
If you're not sure whether your home needs a regular visit or a deep clean, that's a normal question — tell us what's going on and we'll recommend a starting point rather than guessing at a package.
